Infrastructure software is a new topic in Oracle Fusion Middleware 12C version. You will not require to install WebLogic in every node of your environment, instead you will install infrastructure. In addition Infrastructure will allow you to install the schemas trough RCU, you just will need the binaries of the product and the infrastructure, forget about download RCU software.
Note: Oracle HTTP Server 12c supports provisioning via two different topologies:
Administering OHS 12c through WebLogic Domain :- This scenario requires users to install Oracle Fusion Middleware Infrastructure 12c and then install Oracle HTTP Server 12c in the same installation location. For more information, please refer to Standard Installation Topology for OHS 12c in WebLogic Domain. Here, administrators can use either Enterprise Manager Fusion Middleware Control 12c browser based console or WebLogic Scripting Tool (WLST) to administer Oracle HTTP Server 12c.
Administering OHS 12c through Standalone Domain :- This scenario allows users to install Oracle HTTP Server without any additional dependency.
Let’s see the process of the installation:
- Load the in software in /home/oracle/software/infrastructure
- Decompress the infrastructure software
- Unzip v779122-01.zip
- Launch the installation and complete the wizard installation
- /opt/java/jdk1.8.0_111/bin/java -d64 -jar fmw_12.2.1.2.0_infrastructure.jar
